The Clio Cup Open will return for the Formula 1 Aramco Grosser Preis Der Eifel 2020 at the Nürburgring ( October ) in an exceptional meeting that will allow drivers from the different Clio Cups to compete at a single venue.

With the promising launch of New Clio Cup in France and Spain, Renault Sport Racing was keen to offer a unique meeting in a prestigious setting for competitors from all the Clio Cups organised around the world.

Following the huge on and off-track success of last year’s Clio Cup Opens, where nearly 50 drivers from across Europe, Asia and the Middle East battled at Circuit Paul Ricard and at Hockenheim, a new event will be held in 2020, supporting again an F1 Grand Prix.

In 2020, the daunting Nürburgring will therefore welcome the latest generation of the famous Clio to the first-ever Formula 1 Eifel Grand Prix. The competitors will have a complete programme with two free practice sessions, two qualifying sessions and two races in front of motorsport’s elite, including Renault DP World F1 Team.

Launched for the 55th season of single-make cups initiated by the R8 Gordini Cup, New Clio Cup is designed to be more accessible and more dynamic than ever in order to offer a unique show from lights out to the chequered flag.

This third edition of the Clio Cup Open will also be an opportunity to highlight the extent of Renault’s involvement in motorsport by bringing together the Clio Cup and Formula 1 at the same event.
