Andretti United Extreme E has revealed its striking new livery for the upcoming Ocean X Prix, round two of Extreme E, which takes place in Senegal on 29 and 30 May, 2021.

The team’s fully-electric ODYSSEY 21 donned a FLUÈRE Spiced Cane Dark Roast theme for round one in Saudi Arabia but will be transformed into a new pink design for Senegal to promote the team’s principal partner FLUÈRE’s Raspberry Blend flavour. The livery is even more poignant as the race will take place next to the pink-coloured Lac Rose.

Inspired by Lac Rose, FLUÈRE label Raspberry Blend will sit at the heart of its non-alcoholic cocktail. Coupled with traditional Senegalese drinks favouring ginger and hibiscus infusions, FLUÈRE has brought these flavours and colours together to create Raspberry Tinted Racing.

With each Extreme E race visiting a distinctly unique part of the world, FLUÈRE is pairing one of its labels with each location to host a race. Consequently, the Andretti United Extreme E vehicle livery will be changed to reflect the hero label and signature non-alcoholic cocktail of the specific race.

Owned by fast moving consumer goods business, Next Frontier Brands, FLUÈRE aligns with the parent company’s ambitions to meet consumer demands for innovative beverage, wellness, and lifestyle brands that deliver superior experiences. Sharing Andretti United’s passion for raising awareness for environmental damage as well as sporting excellence, FLUÈRE and Next Frontier Brands’ partnership with the team is one built on shared values.

Commenting on FLUÈRE’s signature cocktail debuting at the Ocean X Prix in Senegal, Roiby Gonzalez, Chief Marketing Officer at Next Frontier Brands, explained: “FLUÈRE is all about embracing the moment and enjoying incredible experiences. We wanted to create a signature non-alcoholic cocktail for the upcoming Extreme E race, that intimately reflects Lac Rose, celebrates the unique race location and the cultural nuances of Senegal to add another dimension to the experience for people at the race as well as home watching. There are several FLUÈRE labels that we will be championing through our partnership with Andretti United Extreme E; with the car livery changing for each race.”

At Extreme E’s season-opener in Saudi Arabia in April, 2021, Andretti United Extreme E finished runner-up and currently sit third in the overall standings going into the Ocean X Prix which aims to highlight a variety of issues such as rising sea levels due to global warming. Plastic pollution is another major issue affecting the African country, with the mountain of single-use plastic washing up on the shores growing day-by-day and threatening marine species and human health.

Andretti United Extreme E driver Catie Munnings commented: “Sea levels have been rising by around 30 centimetres every 10 years and together with Extreme E, we want to do our part to help raise awareness. In Senegal, we will also be supporting the championship’s Million Mangroves project with Oceanium.”

Catie added: “Saudi Arabia certainly wasn’t plain sailing for us, especially with the puncture but Timmy and I learned so much and to finish second after a tricky start to the event was just awesome. We go into Senegal third in the standings, which is a really strong position to be in. We definitely feel well prepared and ready to apply what we learned from Saudi at the Ocean X Prix – and hopefully score another podium.”

Ahead of Senegal, Catie’s team-mate Timmy Hansen has been busy keeping physically fit through lots of running and took part in the Wings for Life Run virtually alongside 160,000 others to raise money for spinal cord research. The Swede has also completed some off-road training and supported Catie in her RallyX Nordic debut in Höljes.

Timmy said: “I’ve had a productive few weeks continuing with my training, fulfilling some sponsor obligations and also spending a bit of time with my family too. It feels good to strike the right balance. It’s been great having Catie over in Sweden again too – we’ve done a full debrief from Saudi and know the areas where we can improve. We’re both feeling confident going into Senegal with a refreshed state of mind and a fresh new car livery too!”
