June 6, 2020, Lucerne Valley, California
The MORE Racing Series returned after a long pause for the McKenzie’s 300. Hungry racers converged on Lucerne Valley to kickstart the second half of the MORE 2020 season. The event also included the Weddle TJ Craig Memorial Sweet 16 Shootout, part of four special events in 2020 presented by Weddle Industries to support grassroots desert racing.
Weddle equipped teams earn four class wins and multiple podium spots. In Class 10, Matt Rusich earned the top spot piloting Weddle S5-equipped 1045. Another Weddle S5 equipped racer, 2019 MORE Class 5 champ 500 Cade Garcia, kept it consistent with another class win. Weddle-equipped cars also took the top two spots in Class 9 with 908 Eric Ruble taking first and 982 Wesley Welch finishing second in class.
Class 16 podium sweep. The 1622 team of Justin Cockrell and Tim Craig claimed the top spot in the Weddle Sweet 16 special event. 1621 Mike Harvey finished second and the 1660 team of Terry Jeffers and Tim Craig took third. Tim Craig also claimed the Top Qualifier Award and 1623 Bryce Farrar brought home the check for fastest lap in class.
Big congratulations to Cody Jeffers and the MORE Racing team for bringing the series back after a lengthy pause.
