Daijiro Yoshihara: 2020 Pro Drift Driver

Popularly known as Dai Yoshihara, Daijiro Yoshihara hails from Hachioji, Tokyo and is considered as one of the best drift drivers in the world. Without any drift championship experience, Yoshihara competed for the first time in the 2003 D1 Grand Prix. He was a rookie and yet finished in the top half of the race. Shortly later, in his second championship at Drift Showoff in Irwindale, California, he got a podium spot to finish 2nd overall. With multiple wins in 2003, he was drafted in the 2004 Formula Drift Championship Series the following season.

With more than 10 years of experience in Drifting and Road Racing championship, he is well respected in the racing fraternity for his skills and vehicle knowledge. He expands his learning to non-competition driving that includes stunt driving, tire/suspension testing and vehicle evaluation. Yoshihara continues driving Falken Tire / Turn 14 Distribution Subaru BRZ which has been consistent for him since 2013. The car is powered with turbocharged 454ci Chevrolet LSX engine, boasting 960 horsepower with 830 lb-ft of torque.

His remarkable achievements include Formula Drift points championships, stunt driving in films and commercials, as well as drift driving instruction and judging. He has raced everything from Lexus to Nissan, mainly in Formula Drift. Recently, he returned to Pikes Peak for the 98th running of the Race to the Clouds in his 2013 Toyota 86 and finished 9th overall.
